Will scaling make my teeth whiter?
It will make them cleaner, which often looks whiter. Polishing removes the stained surface film, so teeth usually lighten by a shade or so and feel noticeably smoother. It does not change the natural colour of the enamel underneath — that requires whitening. Scaling is normally done first in any case, because whitening gel works unevenly over tartar.
