SMILE MAKEOVER — DUM DUM

Smile makeovers at our Dum Dum clinic

A smile makeover is not one treatment. It is several, chosen and sequenced so the front teeth end up working together — in colour, in shape, in proportion and against the line of your lip. At Gupta Dental, we plan smile makeovers in Kolkata around your whole smile rather than one tooth at a time, and we plan them before anything is done to a tooth.

Whether you are preparing for a wedding, correcting years of wear and staining, or finally addressing teeth you have been unhappy with for a long time, the process starts with an assessment and a plan you can see and agree to.

Makeover Benefits

Benefits of a Planned Smile Makeover

The difference between a smile makeover and a series of separate cosmetic treatments is the planning. It is also the difference between a result that looks considered and one that looks assembled.

  • Everything Matches: Shade, length and shape are decided together, so a new veneer does not sit beside a crown made two years earlier in a different colour.
  • Fewer Treatments Than You Expect: Planning often shows that whitening and one bonded tooth achieve what you wanted, rather than eight veneers.
  • Function Improves Alongside Appearance: Correcting worn edges and an uneven bite protects the teeth while improving how they look.
  • Predictable, Not Hopeful: Working from photographs and a plan means the outcome is discussed in advance instead of assessed at the end.
  • Your Enamel Is Conserved: Sequencing orthodontics before restorations means less tooth structure is removed overall.
  • A Result That Lasts: With healthy gums and good hygiene, a well-planned makeover holds for ten to fifteen years before major work is revisited.

What a Smile Makeover Includes

Smile Assessment and Photographs

A full examination and a photographic record of your smile at rest, speaking and smiling, which is where planning starts.

Smile Design Planning

Working out tooth proportion, midline, edge position and shade against your lip line and face before treatment is chosen.

Whitening as the Foundation

Shade is set first, because restorations are matched to your teeth and no restoration will lighten later.

Aligners Before Restorations

Where teeth are crooked or gapped, moving them into position first means fewer veneers and less enamel removed.

Tooth Contouring Fine

Fine reshaping of edges and corners to balance the smile, frequently the last and smallest step.

Veneers and Bonding

Porcelain veneers for lasting colour and shape correction, composite bonding where a smaller or reversible change will do.

Metal-Free Crowns

Zirconia and all-ceramic crowns for teeth too damaged for a veneer, matched to the rest of the plan.

Gum Reshaping

Correcting an uneven or low gum line, which is often what makes teeth look short rather than the teeth themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a smile makeover cost in Dum Dum?
It depends entirely on what the plan involves, and the range is wide. In Kolkata, porcelain veneers are commonly quoted between ₹8,000 and ₹25,000 per tooth and composite veneers between ₹3,000 and ₹10,000. Most makeovers cover the front six or eight upper teeth, so a veneer-based plan often runs from around ₹75,000 upwards. A plan built on whitening, aligners and a small amount of bonding can cost considerably less. We give you a written, itemised plan showing each stage and its cost before you commit to any of it.
How do I choose the right clinic for a smile makeover in Dum Dum?
Ask to see the plan before you agree to treatment — photographs, proposed shade and what is being done to each tooth. Ask whether gum health and bite are being assessed first. And ask whether a less invasive option would achieve the same thing, because a clinic that answers that honestly is protecting enamel you cannot get back. Be cautious of any quote given before an examination.
Is a smile makeover painful?
Most of it is not. Whitening, contouring and gum reshaping cause little or no discomfort. Veneer and crown preparation is done under local anaesthesia, with some sensitivity while temporaries are in place. Aligners cause pressure for a day or two with each new set. We tell you what to expect at each stage rather than at the start of the whole plan.
How long does a smile makeover take, and how long does it last?
A whitening and bonding plan can be completed in two or three appointments. A plan including aligners runs across several months, because the teeth have to move first. Once complete, whitening needs topping up every year or two, bonding lasts five to eight years, and porcelain veneers and ceramic crowns commonly ten to fifteen years or more.
Will it look obvious?
Not if it is planned to your face rather than to a shade card. The results that look artificial are the ones where every tooth was made the same length and several shades too light. Natural teeth vary, the front two are slightly longer, and shade should sit within a believable range for your age and complexion. We plan against your own features, and you see the intended shade before it is fixed.
Does insurance cover a smile makeover?
No. Indian health insurance policies treat cosmetic dental treatment as elective and exclude it. Where an individual element has a functional purpose — a crown protecting a broken tooth, for example — a limited dental benefit under some corporate or top-up plans may apply to that part alone. Check with your insurer and we will supply the documentation needed.
